Graduate Traineeship Programme (GTP)

Who can apply

The Graduate Traineeship Programme (GTP) is open to applicants who have obtained - in the timeframe indicated in the traineeship notice - a University degree in a discipline relevant to the activities of the Agency.

Further eligibility requirements will be published in the traineeship notice.

Duration and financial matters

The GTP lasts 12 months with a fixed start/end date in common for all selected trainees in each intake.

You will receive a monthly grant plus a travel allowance for travel expenses incurred at the beginning and end of your traineeship. The amount of the grant will be published in the traineeship notice.

Selection Process

Your application will be screened against the eligibility criteria, competencies and skills published in the traineeship notice. We will establish a shortlist of candidates who best suit the needs in accordance with the availability of places, and in particular in terms of educational background, qualifications, competencies, motivation and preferences.

Prior to the final selection decision, shortlisted candidates will be contacted to check availability, suitability, linguistic knowledge and to discuss mutual expectations. Additional phases including test(s) and/or structured (video) interviews may be included in the process.

If offered a position, you must provide required documentation, including proof of identity and education, health insurance, criminal record checks, and visa (if applicable).

Study Placement Scheme (SPS)

Who can apply

The  Study Placement Scheme (SPS) is mainly addressed to candidates who as part of their studies at a University or equivalent institution, or as part of their professional qualification, need to complete a compulsory placement or write a final thesis.

Further eligibility requirements will be published in the Study Placement Scheme notice.

Duration and financial matters

From 6 weeks to 6 months, with a flexible start date proposed by the student and agreed with the Agency.

All expenses incurred during the study placement are to be covered by the student. No financial support is granted by the Agency.

Selection process

If you are interested in the Study Placement Scheme, please apply through the annual call published on the EASA careers page. Note that not all applications can be accommodated due to limited placements based on internal needs.

The call is open year-round, allowing candidates to update or withdraw their applications anytime. When registering on the EASA Careers Portal, select up to two areas of interest. While these will be prioritised, you may be placed in a different area. If you have previously registered, ensure your interests still align with your placement goals.

Indicate your preferred start and end dates (minimum 6 weeks, maximum 6 months) and whether they are flexible. Apply well in advance to allow time for administrative processes and necessary documentation. Upload proof of the placement requirement from your University or professional qualification. If writing a thesis, include a topic description.

Your application will be assessed against the eligibility criteria and required skills. If shortlisted, you will be contacted for an interview regarding your suitability and expectations. Only candidates interviewed will be notified of the outcome; those not selected will remain in the database for other opportunities until year-end.

If offered a position, you must provide required documentation, including proof of identity and education, health insurance, criminal record checks, and visa (if applicable).
