Chief Information Officer
JOB OVERVIEW
Digital transformation is a strategic enabler for EASA. The Agency’s main asset is its knowledge. Knowledge is the combination of human expertise and information creating insight. Digitalisation uses modern technology to offer new ways of achieving business goals.
Leading the function, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for digital transformation and IT service delivery. This includes designing and implementing data management programmes and technological systems to improve stakeholder experience and streamline business operations. The CIO leads a transversal team of IT professionals and external service providers. As a member of the Executive Committee and part of the EASA management team, the CIO reports to the Executive Director.

- Implement digitalisation strategy aligned with business priorities
- Deliver innovative vision, strategies, and concrete solutions by anticipating disruption, leveraging the latest technologies, modern architectures, and service delivery models
- Manage IT strategy, partnerships, and cooperation
- Lead transversal digitalisation and IT teams
- Ensure sound IT sourcing and financial planning
- Address IT security, business continuity, and sourcing risks
- Develop staffing and competence requirements, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and learning
- Liaise with aviation partners, EU Institutions, and stakeholders

ELIGIBILITY
To be admitted to the selection process you must meet the following criteria:
- Thorough knowledge of English (at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and a satisfactory knowledge of another official language of the European Union (at least level B2) [1],
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland
- Completed university studies of at least 4 years in the in the areas of information technologies or computer science, business studies, or other relevant subjects in scope of the profile. After obtaining the degree, at least 15 years of proven professional experience in the field of Digitalisation, or IT leadership / management, or other related domains. Alternatively, completion of at least 3 years of university studies as above, followed by at least 16 years of relevant professional experience
- At least 5 years of recent managerial experience with proven capacity to successfully lead cross-functional teams and represent IT at senior / board level
* This vacancy is open as well to Temporary Agents (2f) employed at EASA, in the grade bracket AD 8 - AD 14 (for AD 8 seniority of at least 2 years on the grade is required)
[1] Mother tongue English speakers will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of a second EU language. English oral and written skills will be assessed throughout the assessment phase.
Conditions of Employment
Contract: 5 years contract as Temporary Agent 2 (f) with possibility of extension (for an indefinite period)
Working hours: 40 hrs per week (on a full-time working pattern)
Salary: Depending on work experience. Additional allowances depending on personal situation.
