Digital Communications Specialist - Webmaster
Job Overview
As Webmaster, you help ensure that EASA’s communications are coherent, engaging, and strategically aligned with the Agency’s identity. You achieve this by combining content creation, channel management, and stakeholder liaison, while coordinating and guiding a three-person web team within the Communications and Safety Promotion Department. Through your active contribution, you support both the smooth day-to-day operation and the strategic development of EASA’s digital communication tools.
General Accountabilities
Contribute to making EASA’s communications coherent, engaging, and strategically aligned with the Agency’s identity by combining content creation, channel management, and stakeholder liaison and aligning with the overall Communications Strategy and Communications Policy.
Manage the EASA website and other digital tools
- Using your knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal, ensure the day-to-day smooth running and development of EASA's web-based communication tools, specifically its website and intranet.
- Interact with EASA's digital communications contractor with respect to day-to-day product management and longer-term development projects
- Handle web publications in conjunction with other members of the three-person web team to ensure timely, accurate publications.
Coordination & Training
- Coordinate daily activities of the web team. Assign tasks and enable priority setting in view of workload distribution, and support in resolving problems as needed
- Train and coach team members, helping to enable their effective integration and performance
- Train colleagues outside of the team on intranet publication processes
Analyse & Improve Web Operations
- Create and maintain guidelines for web publications, ensuring consistency and quality in digital content
- Set up and manage statistical evaluations for web content to assess performance and user engagement
- Analyse data to identify patterns, trends, and data insights to understand the wider perspective of user engagement and web performance. Translate patterns, trends, and data insights into workable solutions (e.g. Website structure)
- Monitor stakeholder usage of the website and conduct user research to improve website usability
- Improve web operartions in collaboration with the Digital Transformation and Technologies Department
- Together with the Brand Specialist, advise the Digital Transformation and Technologies Department department on web branding design and information architecture, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and standards
Collaboration on web projects
- Collaborate with mutliple stakeholders in the execution of high value, high visibility web-related projects - such as the 'Flight Emissions Label' (RefuelEU Aviation), and eRules - ensuring consistency and quality in line with the established communication and publication standards
Contract Management
- Contribute to the oversight of the high-value framework contract for digital communication services, covering EASA web products (website, intranet, and communities), as well as the 'Flight Emissions Label'.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the service providers
Admission Criteria
The following constitute eligibility and essential criteria for the role and for being admitted to the selection process. Candidates not fulfilling these criteria by the deadline for applications, will be excluded from the selection:
- Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union (at least level C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the EU to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties (at least level B2). One of the required languages shall be English[1]
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
- A level of post-secondary education, attested by a diploma in information and communication technologies (ICT), communication, marketing, or other studies in scope of the role followed by at least three years of relevant professional experience after obtaining the diploma,
or
A level of secondary education, attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, followed by at least six years of relevant professional experience within the scope of the role. - Proven experience in managing large-scale or complex websites, involving multiple stakeholders and varied contents
- Proven experience with Drupal or other content management systems
This vacancy is open as well to Temporary Agents 2(f) employed at EASA, or other EU institutions in the grade bracket AST1 - AST9
[1] Mother tongue English speakers will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of a second EU language. English oral and written skills will be assessed throughout the assessment phase

Prior to recruitment, you will be requested to demonstrate that you:
- Are entitled to the full rights as a citizen.

- Meet the character requirements for the duties involved (you will be asked to provide a police certificate confirming the absence of any criminal record) .
- Are physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post (you will be asked to undergo a medical examination in a centre indicated by EASA).
Conditions of Employment
Contract: 5 years contract as Temporary Agent 2 (f) with possibility of extension.
Working hours: 40 hrs per week (on a full-time working pattern). Flexible working arrangements.
Salary: Basic salary: EUR 4,666.18 - 4,862.29 depending on work experience. Additional allowances depending on personal situation.
Location: Cologne, Germany (relocation is required).
