Job Overview

As IT Administrator (Windows) you will be responsible for a secure, reliable, and efficient administration of EASA's Windows IT infrastructure. The infrastructure operates in a hybrid operational mode between on-premise and cloud systems. You will have to ensure that systems, services, and applications are installed, configured, monitored, and maintained in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), operational and security requirements. As subject-matter expert you will provide second-level technical support and contribute to business continuity through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation. Close collaboration within the team but also to other IT teams is required to fulfill this role.   

 

Admission Criteria

The following constitute eligibility and essential criteria for the role and for being admitted to the selection process. Candidates not fulfilling these criteria by the deadline for applications, will be excluded from the selection:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union (at least level C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the EU to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties (at least level B2). One of the required languages shall be English[1]
  • Be a national of a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
  • Completed university studies of at least 3 years in the scope of the job profile. Alternatively, where justified in the interest of the service, relevant professional training of an equivalent level (ref. EQF - European Qualifications Framework, Level 6) might be considered. 
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in managing Microsoft Windows environments on-premise and in the cloud with the help of automation tools (Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune).
  • At least one certification (Administrator or Trainer) from a professional organisation in the field of Windows server/ client administration, Active Directory, Azure or EntraID (not older than 10 years) is required.

  • An official documentation confirming its recognition as equivalent to a Bachelor's level qualification (EQF Level 6)

[1] Mother tongue English speakers will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of a second EU language. English oral and written skills will be assessed throughout the assessment phase.

General Accountabilities

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Windows systems and their components (i.e. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs etc.)

  • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain other IT systems and applications

  • Monitor and optimise performance, capacity, and availability of IT systems

  • Administer Microsoft cloud technologies (M365, Azure, Entra ID etc.) 

  • Support EASAs strategy to modernise the existing IT landscape by migrating to cloud solutions and technologies 
  • Apply system updates, service packs, and hotfixes according to best practices using Configuration Manager or Intune

  • Create of work instructions, guidelines, and other documentation of already existing and newly deployed solutions
  • Collaborate with IT Architects on improvements and capacity planning

 

Incident Support & Troubleshooting

  • Respond to incidents/problems escalated by the Service Desk

  • Perform root-cause analysis, system tuning, and corrective actions

  • Liaise with vendors for escalation and resolution of complex cases

Aditional Criteria

Prior to recruitment, you will be requested to demonstrate that you:

  • Are entitled to the full rights as a citizen. 
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws on military service. 
  • Meet the character requirements for the duties involved (you will be asked to provide a police certificate confirming the absence of any criminal record) . 
  • Are physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post (you will be asked to undergo a medical examination in a centre indicated by EASA). 

Conditions of employment

Contract: 3 years contract as Contract Agent 3 (a) with possibility of extension.

Working hours: 40 hrs per week (on a full-time working pattern). Flexible working arrangements.

Salary: Basic salary: between 4.319,72 € - 6.256,88 €  depending on work experience. Additional allowances depending on personal situation.

Location: Cologne, Germany (relocation is required).

Selection Process

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via E-mail. If your application has been rejected following the initial screening, the status in your candidate profile will be automatically updated to "Not admitted".
