Job Overview

To further enhance aviation safety, the Agency will digitalise its core business processes such as product certification and organisation approval along with supporting functions, including human and financial resource management. This digitalisation effort will leverage core technologies, including SharePoint.

The SharePoint Solution Architect will design integrated solutions that balance competing requirements leveraging platform capabilities, addressing business needs, ensuring technical integrations, and meeting secure-by-design demands. The SharePoint Solution Architect will also develop and enforce SharePoint implementation standards and policies for use in the Agency's business solutions, ensuring consistent and reusable solution implementations.

General Accountabilities

Standards & Polices

  • Prepare, maintain, and apply SharePoint specific implementation and integration standards and policies

 

Compliance

  • Ensure SharePoint solutions comply with Agency cloud, data, and security policies and standards
  • Ensure SharePoint business solutions are secure by design

 

Technical Architecture, in collaboration with other technical architects, bring to bear SharePoint expertise and

  • Prepare and maintain Agency reference architecture
  • Prepare and maintain business solution architectures in-line with the reference architecture and standards/policies

 

Implementation

  • Participate and guide projects and agile streams in the application of SharePoint capabilities to the benefit of business solution implementation and compliant with policies and standards
  • Maintain business solution architecture so they accurately reflect implementations
  • Drive adoption of best practices for SharePoint development, security, and governance, and reuse ensuring consistency across business solutions in different lines of business

 

Collaboration and Planning

  • Support domain owners to prepare plans and draft solution architectures in response to business demand
  • Support business users by guiding and proposing solutions to business challenges
  • Prepare estimated resource demands for solution architectures and proposed business solutions in support of projects and agile streams

 

Support operational service managers / product owners in their aims to improve service delivery, including:

  • Continuous monitoring
  • Improved security models
  • Service optimisation and performance tuning
  • Access management.

Admission Criteria

The following constitute eligibility and essential criteria for the role to be admitted to the selection process. Candidates not fulfilling these criteria by the deadline for applications, will be excluded from the selection:  

  • Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union (at least level C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the EU to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties (at least level B2). One of the required languages shall be English[1]
  • Be a national of a Member State of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.
  • Completed university studies of at least 3 years in the scope of the job profile. Alternatively, where justified in the interest of the service, relevant professional training of an equivalent level (ref. EQF - European Qualifications Framework, Level 6) might be considered. 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Developer Associate, Teams Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Practical experience in SharePoint 2016, Subscription Edition and SharePoint Online: 
    • Designing and implementing: Hands-on farm setup considering site structures, information taxonomies, service availability, business service integration, and backup and disaster recovery strategies 
    • Implementing: Client-side web parts configuration and implementation and the application of the SharePoint Framework (SPFx); designing SharePoint solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps for internal and external users accesses
    • Infrastructure: SharePoint integration with networks, active directories for internal and external access, MS SQL Server, and business solution information exchange using GraphAPI
    • Migrations: Experience analysing, and planning large scale SharePoint migrations
    • Operating and Managing: SharePoint monitoring scalable SharePoint environments, workflows and forms

If you do not hold a university degree, please upload:

  • A certificate or diploma of the professional training completed
  • An official documentation confirming its recognition as equivalent to a Bachelor's level qualitficiation (EQF Level 6)

[1] Mother tongue English speakers will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of a second EU language. English oral and written skills will be assessed throughout the assessment phase.

Aditional Criteria

Prior to recruitment, you will be requested to demonstrate that you:

  • Are entitled to the full rights as a citizen. 
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws on military service. 
  • Meet the character requirements for the duties involved (you will be asked to provide a police certificate confirming the absence of any criminal record) . 
  • Are physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post (you will be asked to undergo a medical examination in a centre indicated by EASA). 

Conditions of employment

Contract: 3 years contract as Contract Agent 3 (a) with possibility of extension.

Working hours: 40 hrs per week (on a full-time working pattern). Flexible working arrangements.

Salary: Basic salary: between 4.319,72 € - 6.256,88 €  depending on work experience. Additional allowances depending on personal situation.

Location: Cologne, Germany (relocation is required).

Selection Process
